CREATIVE ACTIVITIES

Quilters Uniting

Our quilting group meets on alternate Monday evenings from 7-9.30pm. All are welcome to join this friendly group and bring along some quilting, sewing or knitting. Supper is provided and the cost is a $3 donation.

Photography & Fellowship

Our Photography and Fellowship group meet for excursions, submit photos under different categories and engage in viewing photos together. Typically we have four excursions or workshops per year, usually on the second Sunday of months with a viewing evening usually 13 days later. COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Drop In

This weekly community gathering takes place every Thursday in our church hall. All are welcome to attend and join in craft, indoor bowls, conversation and food (morning tea is held at 10.30am and lunch takes place at 12noon). The cost is a donation of whatever you feel able to give.

Adult Fellowship

Day Fellowship meet the first Wednesday of each month, in the church hall at 1:30 PM. The coordinator id Betty Fry.

Evening Fellowship meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:45 PM, usually in the church hall. The coordinator is Alison Warren.

Activities include guest speakers and outings.

Tuesday Evening Walking Program

All walks are on TUESDAY evenings 7.00 PM, weekly from  8 January to 12 March 2019. If the Bureau of Meteorology temperature for Adelaide (Kent Town) at 6.00 PM on the scheduled date is above 35.5°C – the walk will be cancelled. Walks will be approximately one hour. Unless otherwise noted the walks are graded as “easy”. Please park vehicles to conserve parking space.

A voluntary donation of 50 cents from each person (excluding children) would be appreciated. The funds will be used to assist our church in Mission and Outreach Programs.

8 Jan 2019 Torrens Down stream from Paradise Interchange: Meet at the Paradise Interchange parking area near Darley Rd and the inbound busway track. Cross the busway at the pedestrian crossing and follow the bike path outbound on the northwest side of the busway, under Darley Road. Before the Torrens river turn left to follow the linear park downstream for about 32 minutes. Return to the start point taking the shortcut down Junction Road and across the footbridge at the corner of Victor Road.

15 Jan 2019 Torrens Up stream from Paradise Interchange: Meet at the Paradise Interchange parking area near Darley Road and the inbound busway track. Follow the bike path outbound on the southeast side of the busway, under Darley Road, Before the Torrens river turn right to follow the linear park upstream for about 27 minutes – crossing the river at Lower Northeast Road. Return to the start point crossing the Torrens and budway tracks near Darley Road.

22 Jan 2019 Torrens downstream from Klemzig Interchange: Linear Park from Klemzig Interchange, Inbound – start near the Klemzig O’Bahn Interchange and follow the Linear Park downstream to near Burlington Street Walkerville and return.

29 Jan 2019 Torrens upstream From Klemzig Interchange: Linear Park from Klemzig Interchange, Outbound – Start near the Klemzig O’Bahn Interchange and follow the Linear Park generally north eastward / upstream to Cookes Road Windsor Gardens and return.

5 Feb 2019 Lyons Rd to Darley Rd and return: meet near Lyons Rd and Chrysler Dr. Follow the bike path south westward to Glenwood Walk, jog left onto Brookvale Rd. At the Torrens cross under the O-Bahn. Keep right at first track intersection and then left Willowbrook Rd. Follow the bike track under the O-Bahn then northward back to the start point.

12 Feb 2019 Lyons Rd to Heysan Reserve and return: meet near Lyons Rd and Chrysler Dr. Follow the bike path northward, cross under the O-Bahn and continue northward, under Grand Junction Road to Heysan Reserve – netball and tennis courts. Return to the start point by the same route.

19 Feb 2019 Ambers Gully – Linear Park to Aqueduct and return: Meet at Ambers Gully parking area (south side of Gorge Rd – 300m west of King George Ave and 80m east of Bermuda Ct). Walk upstream to the first footbridge and cross the river. Then walk upstream to the end of the paved path past the aqueduct. Retrace the route back to the parking area.

26 Feb 2019 Ambers Gully – Linear Park downstream: Meet at Ambers Gully parking area (south side of Gorge Rd – 300m west of King George Ave and 80m east of Bermuda Ct). Walk downstream for about 25 minutes. Reverse direction and take the first footbridge across the river. Then walk upstream to return to the parking area.

5 Mar 2019 Wadmore Park – Thorndon Park Loop: Begin at the Wadmore Park parking lot on Maryvale Road near Fifth Creek Track. Follow Fifth Creek to Gorge Road. Follow Hamilton Terrace to Thorndon Park, loop around the reservoir ponds and return to the start point.

12 Mar 2019 Wadmore Park – Fifth Creek to Torrens and return: meet outside the Wadmore Park parking area on Maryvale Road. Follow Fifth Creek track, cross Gorge Road and Lower Athelstone Road downstream to the Torrens River. Return to the start via the opposite side of the creek.
